Our mission is to create strong communities through mindfulness education, classes, and events and to move mindfulness beyond self-care into community care. Over the past year, we have created mindfulness classes, events, and trainings that are free and open to the public. We hope to grow these programs and their reach within our community in the coming months.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on community support to fund mindfulness education. None of our efforts would be possible without the help of generous donors, volunteers, and supportive community members like you.

Mindful Meander

Did you know that time spent in nature can improve both your mental and physical health? On behalf of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, CONNECT Summit County and Swaner are partnering to host a guided mindfulness meander on the Swaner Preserve.

Research has shown that mindfulness and time in nature enhance mental clarity, creativity, focus, and attention to detail in addition to reducing stress and stress-related illness. During this challenging time for our community, mindfulness can play a critical role—allowing us to embrace the healing power of nature. During the meander, we’ll take an easy 1.5 hour walk on the Preserve, engage in nature with a Swaner Naturalist, and participate in activities with mindfulness expert, Rebecca Brenner.

Rebecca Brenner, MA, is an author and mindfulness meditation teacher, speaker, and practitioner.

This event is presented in partnership with CONNECT Summit County.
